Some mature adults may be concerned about their safety when it comes to choosing a private ride service. It’s easy to see why, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak. As a person’s age increases, so does his or her risk of developing severe complications from the novel coronavirus, especially if underlying medical conditions are present. STAR Transportations is committed to promoting the mobility, safety, and health of our customers and drivers during the pandemic and beyond. Below are the customer safety and hygiene rules we follow in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control:
• Drivers and riders must be masked at all times (a driver cannot accept a customer who isn’t wearing a mask)
• Hand sanitizer is available in each vehicle for riders’ use
• Riders are not allowed to sit in the front seat of the vehicle
• To comply with shelter-in-place rules, customers should travel alone where practicable (although exceptions will be made for riders who need personal assistance)
• When possible, avoid touching
• If you are experiencing COVID-like symptoms, we ask that you stay home and reschedule your trip
We’re practicing safe ways to protect older adults from COVID-19. Following precautions is best, even if you feel skeptical about them. Not adhering to these requirements could mean an increased risk of exposure, so we feel it is important to promote proper hygiene as we transport you to your doctor’s office, the grocery store, or anywhere else you need to go.
